Times up!

First of all, we all went to our very first Major League Baseball game at Dodger stadium!! It was Mormon night and we got a great deal on tickets through our ward.

Oh and Elder Ballard threw the opening pitch! And Napolean Dynamite sat behind us. It was pretty sweet.

Amelia LOVED the popcorn.

View from our seats. Not the best, but definitely not the worst.

Amelia-isms

So as many of you know, our daughter is quite unique (aren't all kids?) So we thought we'd share a few of the latest "Amelia-isms" with you for your enjoyment.

Amelia has always been a picky eater, but now if we let her take her food under the table she will usually eat the whole meal. No joke. She likes to pretend she's a dog and eat under the table at our feet. No complaints from us, Brad and I can actually have a decent conversation this way.

Amelia loves to "hide," especially from chickens! One day a long time ago Brad taught her to hide under the covers in our bed. And since our bed is so much bigger than hers she loves to make a big tent and hide from the chickens. She'll run through the house yelling, "The chickens are coming," as loud and as fast as she can she'll run into our bedroom jump on the bed and dive under the covers.

Amelia loves to say "Hi" to everyone she sees like a happy bubbly little girl. But if they respond, well, that's a whole different story. If anyone so much as dares to say hello back to her she turns into that lovely two year old and yells at them.

Amelia will repeat herself over and over and over and over and over and over until you acknowledge what she's saying to you. For example, tonight we had the missionaries over for dinner and she kept telling them about the dinosaur with the long neck-over and over and over and over (the elder was in the middle of telling us a story) and as soon as he acknowledged her she ran off to play happy as could be.

And because Brad and I just love it when she's asleep, here is yet another photo of her sleeping. Yes, that's her snuggled up the scriptures. She loves taking books to bed and reading herself to sleep. Glad she's choosing good books.

BREAKTHROUGH!!!

Today we had a MAJOR breakthrough at church. This is seriously major!! Due to a Young Single Adult conference going on at our chapel we had to drive up to Malibu to attend church with another ward in another building. It was a beautiful drive up the Pacific Coast Highway and we had a lovely time visiting with the other ward. Oh, and by the way, Ricky Schroder and his family were the speakers. Don't know who that is? Well, he's a big actor on '24', and 'Silver Spoons'. Brad was very excited.

So what was this breakthrough you ask?? Amelia stayed the ENTIRE time in nursery today!!! That hasn't happened in, I don't know how long! Brad and I actually got to listen to the lessons, read the scriptures, and participate in the discussions!! WOW!! I had forgotten what it feels like to be an adult at church! They had to bring her to us once, which didn't surprise me. Someone opened the door and she was reminded that her parents weren't there, but really I think she just had to go to the bathroom. As soon as they brought her to us, she said she had to "wee wee" and then asked to go right back in there. I opened the door and she ran right in without me! COOL HUH?!! I am over the moon about it!!

Oh and here's some more photos. This was the other day when I went in to check on her during her nap. She fell asleep like this, no joke. Oh, and that little mullet she's sporting? It's gone now. I suppose I should take some photos of the new haircut.

Finally!!

Wow, has it really been that long since I've last updated?? What happened? Sheesh. I don't think I've been in the picture taking mood lately. Which is a shame because we still have this cuter than ever daughter...she just happens to be two now and won't hold still for the camera and I seem to work up a sweat trying to get her to...maybe that's why?

Well, here are just a few photos that I have found from the 4th of July. We went to the local high school here for the fireworks. It was really quite fun and Amelia LOVED IT!! The only down side was the fact that they open up the entire grounds for parking (which you have to pay $5 for) and then they STACK you in!! That's right, they stack you in. So once you were in, you were there until everyone else decided to leave to. That meant, if I spontaneously went into labor (which obviously didn't happen) I would have had to have given birth right there under the fireworks...which would have made for an awesome story right?!

Anticipating the fireworks! Don't you love that genuine smile?! Brad's been workin' on that one for a while now! :)

Oh, I can hardly contain myself!!
