So last night I sent Brad to get Amelia ready for bed while I finished up a few things in the kitchen. I was very pleased thinking that Braddy Daddy was taking care of everything. I planned to go in the room and find her in her jammies and all snuggled and ready for bed...instead, this is what I found.
Check out my new hat Mom!
Doesn't it look so cool? Can I wear it out tomorrow?
OK, I promise to get ready for bed as long as you let me wear my cool hat!
Dang! I just want to look cool...I'll show her!
What spit-up? I didn't do anything?
And finally, ready for bed. One of the best parts of Brad working for National Geographic is that he has learned how to mummify babies...so we practice every night!
Oh, come on guys! Not again!
OK, fine, take the dumb photo!

Hey, its Elder Black from our Sydney days!
We used to help out the LDS missionaries all the time while we lived in Sydney, and one of our favourites (from right before we came back to the US), was Elder Black (he's featured at the end of this little vignette - standing in the center of this thumbnail):
"Sonia Krueger, a reporter for the Australian news show Today Tonight, went on assignment to report about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Wanting to learn more about the Church, Krueger went directly to the experts — the Mormons. Krueger captured her experiences in a video segment in which Church members and missionaries were given the opportunity to explain their beliefs and dispel misconceptions people may have about Mormons."

"Look what I can do now!"
Amelia's learned how to grab the handle to play music on her bouncer (hey, its a major milestone for her):

Kim 'n Amelia - ready to roll! (UPDATEDx2)
(self-portrait in the mirror)
A nice fellow at NGT just gave Brad a ten year old Sony VX-1000 MiniDV camera, so now we have something a little higher-res to capture Milzers with (sadly, the CCD is old and smearing, so we settled for a sepia look, rather than the hulk-green skin colour cast and bright red lips! - but you can't expect much when its FREE)
(of course, Brad couldn't let Kim have all the fun with the bathroom self-portraits!)
More video from the RAZR of Amelia laughing:

Amelia's Very First Video
Brad catches Kim and Amelia at play:
(yeah, you'd think for someone who works with 1920x1080@24PsF video on a daily basis, we'd get around to capturing memories on something a bit better than 176x144@12fps CIF-rez by now, eh?!)

droolin' over the new Apple iMacs
We met up at the Pentagon City metro after Brad got off work, and ran to the third floor to the Apple store to play with the new iMacs that came out on Tuesday...and, of course, Kim couldn't help herself when it came to playin' with the fun PhotoBooth app:
We're still hoping she will out grow that cone head.
(is it too obvious that we're Apple diehards?!)

Amelia Jane goes to Luray Caverns UPDATED
Meet Amelia. Amelia enjoys going on adventures with her mom. Today she visited Luray Caverns.
Meet Tour Guide Scott. Scott showed us all the amazing nooks and crannies of Luray Caverns.
Amelia and her mom were amazed at all the stalactites.
This was amazing. An underground lake that perfectly reflected the ceiling above.
Amelia: Mom, what if this caves in and we all get trapped?
Mom: Don't worry, Tour Guide Scott says they have a great insurance policy...we would all be covered!
Wow! That rocks!
Yeah this is all underground!
Daddy, Uncle Brandon, & Aunt Felicia
Duck!
Photo courtesy of Tour Guide Scott.
Amelia fell asleep and missed most of the excitement.
Amelia also enjoyed playing hide and go seek with daddy.
The worlds only underground organ...that played heavenly music.
One of the organ "pipes."
The Great Stalacpipe Organ - sounds beautiful:
You just gotta hear Tour Guide Scott: "Exactly!" "KAV-RUNS!" "World book of Guinesses"

Weekend Warriors!
So this weekend we were over-joyed to have a visit from Brandon and Felicia Wilson (Brad's brother and his wife). After a very long and confusing 8hr bus ride, (see their blog to the right) they finally arrived. A quick rest later at our apartment, and we headed to Georgetown to check out the C&O Canal...and enjoy the swanky night life, not exactly the best place for a stroller.
Beginning our trek down the street.
Brad trying to keep Amelia content...and doing a great job.
A bust of Francis Scott Key...(for those overseas, he wrote the US national anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner", and there's Brad being very unpatriotic)
