a brief update on us

The weather has finally warmed up again (its 65F/18C out), so we caved in and went down to the stream behind the Carraway's to help the kids launch their make-shift raft (to much fanfare).

What are you talking about? I can still see my toes!

Ok, so maybe I really can't.

After the raft sunk, we went up river to "fish heaven" and Kim discovered one of Brad's hidden talents, he is amazing at skipping rocks!!! Who would have ever known? Carson found a dead raccoon under the water, so we dragged him out, named him Pedro, and gave him a proper burial.

This is the nice ride (rental car) we've been toolin' around town in whilst our Jetta is in the body shop

These are Kim's masterpieces (they only took a day to make to!). A crib 'bumper' and a flower arrangement preparatory for lil' Amelia's room. Isn't she just so crafty?! Yes, she did them all by herself too.

Self Portrait during Root Canal

Ok, so its not that exciting, but I thought it was funny. Pulled out my RAZR crapcam and snagged a pic unbeknownst to my dentist. I figure if in the end I'm paying for this guy's trip to the Bahamas (we're estimating it will be around US$800/AU$1,031 when all is said and done after 3 months of this nonsense...and that's after our insurance coverage, sheesh!), I'd better at least get my fun out of it.

(yeah, so I got a cavity when I was 15, it was filled, apparently 'cracked' about 6 months back, bacteria seeped into it, infection started. He said brushing and flossing was futile after the 'crack' occured. The pulp began to swell, I had the most excruciating pain in all of my 26&11/12ths years, and figured I'd better go ahead with the ordeal...thats the story - despite Kim just thinking I have a bad sweet tooth. She's the one who keeps egging me on to call the Smith's and have them ship over those Starburst Gummies and Caramel Tim Tams!)

DC Travel & Adventure Expo-UPDATED

National Geographic was one of the major sponsors of the DC Adventure Expo that took place this weekend at the DC Convention Center, so Brad got a ton of free passes. Of course, the second Carson gets wind of it, it becomes the day to look forward to. The morning arrived, we piled all the kids in the Carraway's suburban and off we went.

Along with all the travel agency booths (the Smith's will be happy to hear we found some sweet deals from QANTAS on flights to Oz! - with free lay-over stays in Fiji!), they had a rock climbing wall, three story zip-line, and 4ft/1.2m deep pool for free scuba lessons. Kim was bummed that her pregger-status wouldn't let her enjoy the various activities, nevertheless, she took a ton of pix of Brad and the kids having a ball. All were amazed that little Hannah (5yrs) could rock climb with the best of them, and they even let her be the smallest person they've ever let on the zipline!

(sorry for the crummy photo quality from the antiquated RAZRs of ours!)
