Well, we finished casting two weeks ago, and this week was school holidays, so we finally began production on my own 10 minute short for one of my classes, entitled: "Fragments." Kim and I wrote the script over the last few weeks, and it was good to see a large portion of it shot. It was pretty weird, though, to have the dialog delivered with an Aussie accent (when writing it, I would obviously read it in my head in an American accent). It was heaps hard to work around the different intonations and tones (and lingo) with the actors and get the same feeling (Aussie's emphasize different words, so some phrases sound strange to an American ear) I was going for in the script.
We started shooting some evening shots in the city across the bay from the Opera House, but the wind picked up and the temperature dropped heaps, so we had to postpone.
We got the b/w 16mm film (from the experimental shoot) back from the lab the other day, and I've gotta say, Luna Park captured in time-lapse at night looks pretty dang sweet! We'll have to telecine it (after we hand tint it, of course) and post it somewhere on the web for you all.
