[UPDATED] My short doco opens the UN Summit in NY!
[UPDATED]
A short video I've been associate producing ("A Way Forward: Facing Climate Change") opened the United Nations Summit today in New York, and was praised by the Secretary-General (who presented it) and Pres. George Bush.
From the UN Foundation Press Release:
(So, its pretty cool, cuz when they say "National Geographic", they mean the 3 of us who made the film in the mad rush leading up to the event!)
It is now online, hosted via National Geographic, or here embedded via YouTube, courtesy of the UN Foundation:
[ORIGINAL POST]
A great guy and friend I made while helping with the inaugural National Geographic All Roads Film Festival in LA & DC back in 2004 tapped me recently to associate produce a 7 minute film to be shown at the upcoming press conference for the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Control, in New York City on 24 September, commissioned by the Secretary-General himself, as a courtesy by the National Geographic Society.
Although I'm still fence-sitting on whether or not humanity is causing a huge global impact on climate, its still a great opportunity, and you can't beat getting recognized in front of a conference full of world dignitaries!

From the UN Foundation Press Release:
"In his opening remarks at the UN Secretary-General's High Level Event on Climate Change, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ban Ki-moon thanked National Geographic and the UN Foundation for the film and “their contribution to humanity” and stressed that the time for action related to climate change is now. “The time for doubt has passed,” Ban said.
“We commend the Secretary-General for his leadership on climate change and agree that the time to act is now,” said Timothy E. Wirth, president of the United Nations Foundation. “We hope this film will educate individuals across the world about the effects of climate change and will encourage them to demand immediate action from their leaders. We thank National Geographic for their expertise and help in making this film a reality.”

Look at me, I'm de-saturated!
This morning just before I put Amelia down for a nap I pulled out the camera to snap a few shots. I can't believe how much she is growing. It's just amazing to me! But I absolutely LOVE being a mom! It's hard work, but I just LOVE this little girl! She is so much fun! All the smiles and giggles make everything worth it!
Playing with the cousins

Bouncy, Bouncy!
Competition of the jumpers! When we saw Emma enjoying her jumper so well...we just couldn't resist and pulled ours out. I think she needs a bit more practice.
Emma: I think your mom just pulled the camera out again!

Cousins arrive!
We received a delightful suprise this weekend when Kacey, Amy, and their two kids Joshua and Emma came to visit...well, not really a suprise, we knew they were coming, but still quite exciting. To ring in the fun visit we took everyone up to Arlington Cemetery to explore. Here are a few photos:
Joshie looking very excited to be here.
Boy this party is dead! (Get it? We're at a cemetery!)
Oh, I thought this party was a scream!
Keeping that fair skin covered.
Bluncks over looking Washington, DC
Just as we were setting out.
Josh was so excited he could hardly contain himself.
Seriously! This is how we all felt.
Just before we got kicked out for eating...come on! She's a baby for crying out loud!
Oh cute!
And after the long day at the cemetery. I was the only one without a baby, so of course I was the designated camera man...uh, woman that is.
