Well, after a false start on Saturday, we came back early Sunday morning (27 May 2007) and Kim fought it out long and hard. (will write more of the details later...I left Kimmy Dimmy at the hospital so I shouldn't leave her alone too long)
Lil' Amelia Jane Wilson (could change...but doubtful) was born at 8:01pm EST 27 May 2007. She was 20"/5.08cm and 7lbs 11oz/3.5kg. She has fire engine red hair...ok, its more strawberry blonde, and here are so quick pix for the time being (i really gotta go, kim'll be mad!):
While Kim was getting prepped for the caesarean delivery, I snapped this pic in the bathroom mirror (speaking of which, they let me watch it and it was really kinda cool...Kim was mad that i was looking at her insides, and i admit i got a bit weak in the knees seeing all the pure white wash cloths being shoved in and coming out sopping wet in blood, and man do they yank on those poor baby's heads!)
Amelia's already worried about her weight, they start these girls a little too young on this weight conscious thing
They had Kimbo 'spread eagle' on a cross like she was about to be crucified...at least the epidural was working
the two most beautiful gals around, just sleepin' away
lil' Milly-poo as I call her

Still we wait...
So we went to the doctor today hoping to hear some good news like, "Wow! You are dilated to a 7! Let's get you to the hospital to have this baby!" But alas, nothing like that happened. It was all the routine stuff, only to find out there have been no changes from last weeks visit. Darn! And again another hopeful remark from the doctor, "I think we will see you before your next visit." Yeah, that obviously didn't happen last week, we'll see how it goes this week. Although we do have the induction scheduled for Thursday, and almost everyone says they went into labour the night before the scheduled induction...so we'll see what happens! Plus we hear the statistic for a first time pregnancy is 8 days overdue...that would be Wednesday. We're keeping our water logged fingers crossed, but who knows.

Playing the waiting game...
So as many of you know, 22 May 2007 has come and gone with nothing eventful occuring. DANG IT!!! Still no baby! I have been having quite a few contractions, some that are beginning to be painful, but nothing regular. Brad and I have been eating a ton of spicy food (love the Indian, Paul), and go on long walks every night after dinner...still nothing. This little one has a very strong grip and isn't about to let go anytime soon. Oh well, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, we'll see what they have to say.

Baby Madness!!
With less than a week to go we are finally getting photos posted from baby showers. Thanks so much to all of you who were so generous to us! We truly appreciate it!
Rubber ducky, you're the one!
Hmmm, I wonder what else is in here?!
Here is the cake Kim's visiting teaching companion made for the baby shower at the Carraways...isn't that amazing?!
Kim, Mary Lynne, and Lanna Barringer
Sally Evans and more guests
I wanna have a baby!! I wanna get presents! (When Kim received the packages from Utah Hannah and Molly started stuffing their bellies, we had to catch it in a photo! So funny!)
Here's the three of us showing off our big old bellies!

UPDATED - We've moved! (as if anyone expects us to stay put for very long)
Yup, that's right, we finally got our own pad (again). After months of searching for the "perfect" place on craigslist.org we finally settled on an apartment in Alexandria, Virginia. (Our lens isn't too wide, so these pix are sort of cramped...need a fisheye lens!)
Looking from the front door into the living room
Reverse from the hallway looking back
Looking over the counter to the hallway leading to the bedrooms/bathroom
Kitchen (obviously)
Amelia's doorknob
Amelia's room
Another view
She's not even her own person yet and she has more clothes than both of us combined! (thanks to the generosity of so many!)
Kim's handywork
Her belly's about to explode!
Our sweet az Ikea platform bed and queen mattress that Brad singlehandedly brought up the flight of stairs to our apartment
Reverse from the bed looking into the closet
Its a nice apartment...although its far from perfect. We spent the night two Saturdays ago with the maintenance man while he snaked out our toilet (it wouldn't stop overflowing with water and other goodies - we guess that's what happens when previous tenants flush Q-tips and other assorted non-septic friendly items down).
Brad dances the night away with the Clorox disinfectant wipes (yes, the bathroom floor was covered in the yuckies after it overflowed)
(old posting stuff)
We took about two hours on Tuesday, May 1, morning to move what little we brought with us initially to VA into the apartment and then went in search of a new bed.
After almost a week of going back and forth between the Carraway's and our own place we feel a little more settled. We have the nursery all set up now and its starting to feel more like a home.

Brandon's LaserTag Birthday Bash
Brandon Carraway turned 10 years old this week, and for his birthday party decided on outdoor laser tag in their backyard. They found a company that comes to your home and sets up the game with all their own equipment (shipped from Australia of all places). Brad was invited to come and play (and I think he had the most fun of all the kids there).
Brandon, heading to the 'cemetary' after losing his 9 lives.
Brad emerges and takes aim from the shelter of the deck.
Some of the rough and tough group Brad was up against.
Mary Lynne decides she wants a piece of the action.
Brad rallies his team to form a plan of attack.
Hannah takes her position on the front line.
Hannah's got Brad's back...
"No, no, no, don't shoot me! I'm on yer team. Shoot them over there!"
They plot how to sneak around and attack the enemy from behind.
"Durbidge! She got me out again!"
(The bad part was the guns don't distinguish between teams so every time Hannah "accidentally" shot Brad, he got out. The red team probably bought her off with candy.)

Aussie Lollies in America? What a find!
His expression tells all...
Here's Brad posing with a rare find in the USofA - our FAVOURITE Australian biscuits, "Tim Tams", a flaky Cadbury's candy bar you could get along with a McDonald's soft serve cone, and Darrell Lea's 'to die for' Mango soft licorice.
(why are we still here in this boring country? let's face it, every day we regret leaving paradise!)
