More sleepys!

I think this is becoming one of Brad's favorite pass times.

Sunday afternoon...

More food fun!

I just LOVE these!! It's so fun being a mom! I have started letting Amelia play with her food a lot more just to see what she does. I have been afraid to do it because we have been staying in other people's homes and I didn't dare to let her make a mess...but...well...she's gotta experience it, right?!

Fun at the beach

Family shot at Narrabeen. Too bad the waves were too big. All the beaches have been closed most of the time since we've been here in Sydney. Which means...no body boarding. Dang!

These photos just don't do justice to the size of those waves.

Awww...(the beach closed sign in the background)

Bathing beauty!

Love those ruffles! (The main reason why we bought the suit!)

Amelia's first experience with sand.

Awww...

And her first experience with shovels in the sand.

She still hasn't quite figured out how to use it properly.

Brad's goal is to make a body boarder out of our baby before she can walk.

"Now just use your arms and paddle out there. But remember to duck dive the waves, lean to the right to turn, kick your feet really hard, stay clear of the surfers, you could get thrown to the bottom, but the sand doesn't hurt that bad....Ready? Set? Go!"

Amelimoto: The hunchback

We are staying with the Jimenez family at the moment and they just happen to have those really cool balls that you usually find in ball pits at McDonalds. You know, the ones where you always wanted to just dive in and get lost forever...until you found a used band-aid or something. Yeah, well, they've got some (the balls) and Amelia has been having so much fun with them. Well...we'll let her tell you about it.

Uh....I think I ate one too many!

OK, OK, OK, Maybe it's Kim that has way to much fun with the balls. But this cracks me up and she just sat there and let me do it. What kind of mean mother am I anyway? (Dad, don't you dare say a word!!)

Oh my gosh!

I love this photo! It's priceless!

I just can't believe that's my dad! (I suppose we should begin to brace ourselves now for those teenage years when we will be the dumb ones of the human race.)

Crawling here and there and everywhere.

Amelia has learned how to crawl this last week and she is now getting into everything. It has been a very fun and exciting experience to watch her discover this new ability. And now that she has found out that she can get around with out being carried everywhere she is very eager to discover the whole world on her own. Sometimes though, I think she is very frustrated that she can't get up and walk like everyone else. It would be so much easier that way.

Amelia's crawling style is a bit like Mogly from the Jungle Book. She gets both feet on the floor with her bum straight up in the air. Sometimes she will get one knee down on the floor, but she always has at least one foot down on the floor at all times. It's great fun to watch her.

I tried to get some good crawling shots...but this was the best I could do.

What a neat toy!

Naw, that one looks much cooler!

Oh, hey, what's this?

Nikon! Cool! (Check out that tummy!)

And here are some action shots:

How many pull-ups can you do?

Amelia is now able to pull her self up to a standing position pretty much whenever and where ever she wants. It's very exciting to see her growing and developing so much and so quickly.

Hey Dad! Check me out! Can I come up there with you?

I just want to sit next to you.

Um Dad, I'm about to fall. A little help would be nice.

Dad! Please! I need you!

Starting early

Need we say more? I think this picture speaks for itself

Big Feet, Little feet

For those of you who don't know...Brad is EXTREMELY tickelish on is feet. I really wanted to get some feet photos and Brad did very well to sit still for as long as he did. I think this little girl is really teaching him patience. I love it!

Just a fun size comparison.

One of my favourites!

Yummy toes! (I hope he washed those!)

Dog days of summer!

Over the Christmas season we were able to house sit for the Asher's. They are a young family that we knew from the last time we were here in Australia. It just so happened that they were going to be in New Zealand with family for three weeks over the Christmas holiday and wanted someone to watch their apartment for them while they were away. So we got to be the lucky house-sitters. You can't beat an air-conditioned apartment in this heat!

Brad and Amelia liked just lounging around in the direct flow of the AC!

What colour is the school bus Amelia?

Ummm.........Is it Blue? Maybe red? No, no, Yellow, I think it's yellow!

That's a boring game anyway! Let's just be lazy!

How do you get a baby to eat their veggies?

Any suggestions? Amelia has been eating solids for almost two months now. It's quite an exciting experience to be had on both ends. Originally I wanted to make all of her baby food. You know, do the healthy thing and steam my own veggies and then blend them up into baby food like consistency, but much to my disappointment Amelia doesn't like my cooking. Everytime I make her some food from "scratch" she gags and gags and then throws it up leaving Brad and I clueless. So we have resorted to feeding her Heinz Baby food from a jar. She likes it much better and will actually eat it and keep it down. So if anyone out there has any experience with this or any suggestions...throw them at me! I would love anything I can get right now.

Here is the process of how it works.
We spoon the food into her mouth,

And it's fun and exciting for the first few seconds,

She likes to take a minute to see if she really likes it,

Yeah, maybe it's not so bad,

Eeewwww! No I hate it!

Eeewww! It's distgusting! What have you given me?

Mom! Dad! Put the camera down!
(Amelia is sitting in her floaty she got for Christmas, which has also been doubling as a high chair! Makes for easy clean up!)

I really hate this stuff! Please get it out of my mouth!

Hmmm.....Maybe that wasn't so bad after all!

And that my friends is what we experience everytime I feed her something that I have made. I hope this isn't a sign for what is to come. I know I am not the best cook and all...but come on! Give me more credit than that!
